RUNV.CLUB - MODERATION AND SANCTIONS
PURPOSE OF MODERATION
Moderation exists to protect users, preserve the system's operation, and prevent a minority from destroying the environment's usefulness for everyone else.
The purpose of moderation isn't to punish for sport. It's to keep the space safe, predictable, and usable for the community.
TYPES OF ACTION
1. Informal guidance
Used for a minor, isolated mistake with no meaningful harm.
2. Formal warning
Used when there's a clear rule violation, but there's still room to correct the behavior.
3. Temporary limitation
May restrict posting, interaction, technical resources, or partial access.
4. Temporary suspension
Blocking for a set period, used for repeat offenses or moderate/serious violations.
5. Permanent ban
Final termination of access, used when the risk is high or trust has been broken.
COMMON CAUSES FOR A WARNING
- hostile language without an explicit threat;
- minor flooding;
- recurring disorganization despite guidance;
- occasional disregard for usage rules.
COMMON CAUSES FOR SUSPENSION
- repeat offense after a warning;
- continued harassment;
- persistent spam;
- improper exposure of others;
- attempting to get around a limitation;
- abusive use of platform resources;
- behavior that harms operation or support.
COMMON CAUSES FOR A BAN
- fraud;
- phishing, scams, or social engineering;
- intrusion, attempted intrusion, or malicious exploitation;
- publishing serious illegal content;
- real threats against users or staff;
- evading a penalty with alternate accounts;
- serious repeat offenses showing a total lack of good faith.
REVIEW CRITERIA
The administration may consider:
- severity of the conduct;
- apparent intent;
- harm caused;
- the user's history;
- risk of repetition;
- cooperation or bad faith during the investigation.
NOT EVERYTHING FOLLOWS A LINEAR LADDER
Not every violation starts with a warning.
Minor cases can be resolved with guidance. Serious cases — such as serious fraud, real threats, scams, or technical attacks — can justify immediate suspension or a direct ban.
APPEAL
A user can contest an applied measure through the official channel:
admin@runv.club
The appeal must include:
- account identification;
- an objective description of the case;
- the reason for the appeal;
- evidence, if any exists.
APPEAL RULES
- an appeal without objectivity gets in the way;
- lying makes things worse;
- emotional pressure doesn't substitute for evidence;
- aggressiveness toward the team can lead to a new penalty.
FINAL DECISION
The administration may review, uphold, reduce, or increase the applied measure based on the available evidence.
CONSISTENCY
A rule applied inconsistently becomes just text. That's why the administration may act whenever there's a real need to protect users, staff, and operations.
