Quick support
Use admin@runv.club for sensitive matters, and run chat on the server for quick questions on #runv.
runv.club is a Brazilian community in the tilde style: a space with an SSH account, terminal, personal page, wiki, news, and community life for anyone who wants to learn, publish, and explore a calmer internet.
No. runv.club is not exclusive to Portal IDEA students. The community is open to different backgrounds, as long as the person agrees with the project, the rules, and there is availability.
There's no automatic web sign-up form. Follow the Join page: generate an SSH key pair, connect to entre@runv.club, and submit your public key when the system asks for it. The team reviews the queue manually and creates the Unix account on the server. Since we're a small team, approval can take up to 21 calendar days.
Access to the pubnix is via SSH with a key, not an SSH password. On your computer, use something like ssh -i ~/.ssh/your_runv_key yourusername@runv.club, adjusting the username and key path. The website in your browser is the public part; the shell lives over SSH.
There's no "forgot password" on SSH. Keep your private key safe. If you've lost it or need to replace the public key registered on the server, write to admin@runv.club explaining the situation.
No. Authentication on the pubnix is done with the SSH key pair you generate on your own device, not with social login.
Check spam, promotions, and junk folders. Also confirm that the address given in your request was correct. If you still don't hear back, or if it's urgent, write to admin@runv.club.
runv.club's pages work in an up-to-date browser on mobile and desktop. The pubnix shell needs an SSH client. If a page doesn't load, refresh, or try another network or browser.
For the site, refresh the page, clear cache, and try another network or device. For SSH, check the username, the key used with -i, the network, and the full error message. If the problem persists, send details to admin@runv.club.
Send an objective message with your Unix username on runv.club, contact email, description of the problem, approximate time, and, for SSH, the full error text or a screenshot. The more concrete the report, the easier it is to help.
The operation aims for security and access control, but your part matters too: protect your SSH private key, don't share it, don't send it over chat, and avoid networks or devices you don't trust for sensitive access.
Generally, yes. You can use the same key pair on more than one device, or different keys, if policy and administration allow it. What matters is not exposing your private key and keeping the account under your control.
Check News, the wiki, and the site itself. If you're still unsure, write to admin@runv.club.
The official channel for questions, support, and general contact is admin@runv.club.
After logging in via SSH, run chat. WeeChat opens the house network, joins #runv automatically, and shows the nick list on the side once the terminal has enough room. For external IRC clients, the backend remains irc.tilde.chat, port 6697, with TLS/SSL. For sensitive account matters or personal data, prefer admin@runv.club.
